Home-made mango banana icecream topped with almonds. A cool treat during this lockdown and peak summer🍑🍌

Mango puree - I used 3 big mangoes
Elakki banana -4
Milk maid - 1 can
Fresh cream - 1
Safron
Almonds

Add all ingredients into a blender,  Make it into nice puree.  Pour it into a glass container.  Top it with crushed almonds.  Freeze it for 12 hours.  Enjoy.

Tastes Devine but at the same time healthy with zero processed sugar yet sweet enough !!  Enjoy this creamy delicious icecream for summer loaded with low fat and high nutrients ...

Ingredients:
½ cup little millet (dry roasted)
½ cup foxtail millet (dry roasted)
½ cup finger millet (dry roasted)
½ cup barnyard millet (dry roasted)
1 cup jaggery or to taste
1 cup fresh cream
4 ½ cups of water

Steps :  Add all millets and 4 cups of water in a deep pot. Place it on low – medium flame, cook it until they are soft.  Take a different pan; add ½ cup of water and jaggery, cook it to make syrup.  Mix all the ingredients and grind it to make smooth paste.  Freeze it overnight in air tight container. Serve chilled!

Thai Green Curry

Recipe for Thai Green Curry

1. Paste: Make a paste of the following items together
Coriander leaves : 1 cup
Kaffir lime leaves: 5
Green chillis (Sereno- spicy): 5
Garlic: 2 cloves
Small Onion: 2
Lemon grass: 2
Galangal: 1 inch
Cumin seeds: 1 1/2 teaspoon

2. Vegetables: wash and chop them as you would for avial
Carrots, green beans, zucchini, broccoli, eggplants (any kind- common to use green small ones) sundakkai, potato, asparagus, long beans, cauliflower, baby corn, tofu, snow peas etc.  Don’t be alarmed by the list- use whatever you have and you like.

3. Coconut milk: 1 cup

4. To season:
1 Kaffir lime leaves- chopped finely, Few slivers of red chilli, 4 Thai basil leaves - chopped finely, 1 teaspoon soy sauce, Salt according to taste, 1 tablespoon Palm/ raw sugar

Method:
1. In two table spoon oil, add the green paste and saute for 2 minutes.
2. Add vegetables, half of coconut milk, 1 cup water and cook them till they are 3/4 done. You can add 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder if you want.
3. Now add the remaining coconut milk, soy sauce, salt sugar, and 1 cup water. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
4. Turn off the stove. Season with kaffir lime leaves, thai basil leaves, red chillis and squeeze half lemon before you serve.
Best served with rice and noodles.

On 4th October 2018, Vilambi Varusham, Purattasi Maasam, 18th day (Thursday) at around 40.00 ghatis.. Jujube-250gms
Dry red chilli - 2 to 3
Coriander seeds(dhania)-1 tspn
Fennel seeds(saunf)-1/2 tspn
Fenugreek seeds(methi)-1/2 tspn
Cumin seed(jeera)1/2tspn
Jaggery-100gms
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder-1/2 tspn
Method:  First wash and dry it in sunshine for 2 days.  Take a kadai..dry roast coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fennel seeds, fenugreek seeds, dry red chillies. Grind it coarsely.  Add 200ml of water..bring it to a boil...add jaggery,turmeric powder,salt to taste...add jujube's in it...let it boil for 15 to 20mts in low flame...cover the lid...till it becomes sticky.  Now add the grinded masala as per ur spiciness....just keep for 5 mts in low flame only....and switch off the flame.  After it is cooled,u can transfer it to a dry glass jar.  This can be kept for a long time...u can keep in sunshine and stir it occasionally.... It goes well with roti,paratha... You can even njoy eating this after lunch also...

How to Use Aaharam’s Ready Mix Vathakuzhambu :  Soak lemon sized tamarind in 500ml warm water and extract Juice.  Unpack 50 gms of Ready Mix Vathakuzhambu and mix in the Tamarind Juice.  Add required salt and mix well.  Bring to boil in medium flame and once thickened, add 4 tsp of Gingelly oil and remove from flame.  Your authentic / traditional / homemade Vathakuzhambu is ready to serve.  No tempering required.  All ingredients mixed in the pack.

Ingredients : Red Chilly, Tuvar Dal, Chenna Dal, Urud Dal, Asafoetida, Pepper, Jeera, Cumin Seeds, Coriander seeds, Fenugreek Seeds, Rock Salt, Dried sun berry @ Manathakkali Vathal, Mustard Seeds, Curry Leaves.

Ingredients
Basmathi Rice, Powdered Sugar, Cashewnuts, Roasted Vermicilli, Ghee and Powdered Elachi.
Net Qty : 100Gms  
Price : Rs.27/- per pack
Best before 3 months from the date of packing

Method of Use :  Unpack Readymix Payasam and mix with 500ml of Pure cow's milk and bring to boil in medium flame.  Stir occasionaly.  Once cooked and thickened, Remove and add 1 tsp of Pure Ghee and mix well.  Serve Payasam hot in Cup of your choice.

IBCD is always celebrated on Nov-01 every year with a day to earmark our Traditional cuisines / Recipes to reach the nook and corner of the world and to recognise our systems and traditions which. on one day would rock the entire World with our cuisines, and also to celebrate a Unique day for our brahmins.... With  your united support, we shall rock this day with our Unique Picture in our timeline and as our Profile Picture and make traditional recipes / cuisines at home and serve our beloved family and friends and show we are UNITED at all times...

Dearest Aaharians, In a short period of time, our Aaharam website has reached 500 posts with recipes / cuisines from various members of aaharam Group. This was possible only with your immense contribution to the group, to sustain our traditional dishes and other variety of cuisines from various parts of our country, to our followers.

This is the time to express my special thanks whole-heartedly to all of you Aaharians, right from the inception of the group to till date, my ex-admins, ex-friends, and all the present admins. We have reached a milestone on our website today 05/05/2017, reaching 500 posts and hope to reach further with more cuisines / recipes with a traditional touch to sustain for ever. Let me also try to assure that in near future you would have lot of video recipes which would be very easy too.

May I request you all at this juncture to pour in your ideas, suggestions, etc as to how to take it further heights....!!!
