1/2 cup raw rice, 1/2 cup moong dhal, 1/2 cup chopped beans, 1/2 cup chopped carrot, 2 small potatoes, 2 cups chopped tomatoes, 3 green chillies, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp jeera, 1tsp mustard seeds, 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves, 1 tbsp grated ginger, 3 tbsp ghee, 2 tsp garam masala powder, 1/2 tsp haldi and required salt.
In a cooker take rice , moong dal , beans , carrot and potato and haldi, add 3 cups of water and cook for 3 whistles. Once steam sets open the cooker and mix everything well . Keep it aside. Next in a kadai add ghee and then mustard seeds and jeera. Once it splutters add tomatoes and then chopped green chillies, chilli powder and grated ginger and salt and mix well. Once tomatoes are cooked add chopped dhania and garam masala powder and mix well and again cook for 2 more minutes. Once done add the cooked rice and dhal with vegetables to the above and mix well . If req add 2 tsp ghee to it and let it be for another 5 mts on stove...... now the kichari is ready.
